Home is more than four walls.
Home is where we raise our families, age in place, build financial stability, become grounded in and connected to our communities, and stay healthy and safe.
Home is out of reach in Vermont.
No one should be without a home, yet lower and moderate income households increasingly cannot afford or find homes due to Vermont’s compounding crisis of unaffordability and unavailability. More and more children and adults of all ages are now experiencing community displacement, housing insecurity and homelessness. Tragic stories about older people no longer able to afford their home, young families struggling to achieve homeownership, and victims of homelessness are all too common.
“This neighborhood gave my family, and all the other families, a place to call home.”
Since 1991, Lamoille Housing Partnership (LHP) has collaborated with communities to create and preserve over 300 quality affordable housing opportunities for lower and moderate income earning residents in Lamoille County and the Town of Hardwick. In 2022, LHP provided affordable homes to 450+ adults and children in Cambridge, Johnson, Morrisville, Stowe and Hardwick. As a 501c3 nonprofit, our impact was possible in large part by local level fundraising which enables LHP to break ground on new affordable housing development and preserve existing affordable housing infrastructure. This summer, we’re opening 45+ doors to homes in Morrisville including 10+ dedicated to households experiencing homelessness right now.
Working together, we can ensure more Vermonters have homes.
Our work is not done, though. At present, there are 500+ households seeking a home with LHP. Help us write more stories like Lizzy's, a single mother and survivor of domestic violence and homelessness who is now starting her life over because of affordable housing. Join LHP at our inaugural fundraising event featuring kickass entertainment, a solid silent auction, and exciting door prizes. We hope to raise $25,000 for our Housing Opportunity Fund so that we can continue to create and preserve affordable housing developments for our neighbors in need. Please join us to create a successful fundraiser and memorable evening supporting a vital, urgent cause.
